JVT’s villas often host family visiting from abroad, and a gentle massage at home is a thoughtful way to help older guests recover from a long flight. A few things make it safe and comfortable:
- Tell us about health conditions when you book, such as high blood pressure, heart conditions, diabetes, joint replacements, osteoporosis, recent surgery or blood-thinning medication. The therapist will adapt pressure and technique, or recommend skipping certain areas.
- If in doubt, check with their doctor first. Massage complements medical care; it doesn't replace it.
- Choose lighter pressure and a shorter session. Sixty minutes of Swedish massage is usually ideal. If getting on and off a massage table is difficult, tell us and the therapist will help them settle safely.
Garden or Indoors? Setting Up in a JVT Villa
A garden massage is lovely on a cool evening, and a few details make it work. Choose a flat, even surface such as a patio or deck rather than grass, a spot shaded from direct sun and screened from neighbours’ windows, and a time after the heat of the day. JVT’s landscaping can attract mosquitoes around dusk, so an indoor room is often more comfortable in the evening. From May to September, we always recommend an air-conditioned room.
